First of all according to blogger this is my 760th post!
2009 was another busy year in our lives. We started the year by finding out that we were having another baby girl and that she was healthy. Josie was potty trained in February, which was a stressful few days, but so worth it because she has done great with it and its so nice just to have one kid in diapers. I have no idea how I would have done it right after Maggie was born. I spent the first half of 2009 pregnant and as most of you know...miserable! Maggie was a big baby and I was so uncomfortable and was so happy to be have her before the hot weather really set in.
Josie turned three in 2009 and became a real little person. She is extremely talkative, loving, caring, and precocious. Everyday brings some laughter and some frustration with her.
Maggie joined our family in June of 2009. We have had to do some adjusting to get used to being a family of 4. In the beginning she slept a lot during the day which meant I could still focus on Josie, but as she has gotten older I have had to split my time more, which has created some jealousy, but we are working on it. Maggie is a fairly happy baby, but an awful sleeper. Now that she is almost 7 months old her naps have found a pretty good routine, but her nighttime sleep is still very inconsistent. She loves to nurse, be held, and watch Josie do just about anything.
Paul and I had a good 2009. We felt at times we were in survival mode especially with the arrival of Maggie and the lack of sleep, but I think we are finding a new rhythm. Paul and I will both turn 30 in 2010. We have been married a little over 6 years and while there are times we look at each other when both kids are crying and we can't believe we are the parents; there are other times we look at the kids and are very proud to be the parents.
I hope 2010 will be another great year in our little family. I am sure it will bring new challenges and new joys. Maggie will start moving soon which will be interesting as Josie will get possessive of her toys, but I also think it will show Josie that Maggie really is a little person. My goals for 2010 are to continue to take care of my little girls, work out by myself, and hopefully sleep 8 hours straight!
