Maggie at 7 months and first tooth!

Maggie is 7 months today. She is sweet and cute! She is wanting to move around, but can't quite figure it out yet. She loves to laugh at Josie and watch Josie do just about anything. I can't believe how fast the first year is going with her. She also got her first tooth today! Its way earlier then Josie did. Josie didn't get her first tooth until she was almost a year old. So far Maggie just has one through her gums, but I am sure more will come soon:)

Swimming

We took Maggie swimming today for the first time. She loves playing in the bath and with some hand-me downs we received from my California relatives we now have a bathing suit that fits her. Although after putting on this 12 month suit it barely fit! Guess I can get out Josie's old 18 month suits for next time. She liked splashing in the water and watching all the kids. She fell asleep as soon as we got in the car.

Birdhouse

Paul and Josie made a birdhouse together. Paul let Josie pick the paint colors and I think it turned out very cute.

2009

First of all according to blogger this is my 760th post!

2009 was another busy year in our lives. We started the year by finding out that we were having another baby girl and that she was healthy. Josie was potty trained in February, which was a stressful few days, but so worth it because she has done great with it and its so nice just to have one kid in diapers. I have no idea how I would have done it right after Maggie was born. I spent the first half of 2009 pregnant and as most of you know...miserable! Maggie was a big baby and I was so uncomfortable and was so happy to be have her before the hot weather really set in.

Josie turned three in 2009 and became a real little person. She is extremely talkative, loving, caring, and precocious. Everyday brings some laughter and some frustration with her.

Maggie joined our family in June of 2009. We have had to do some adjusting to get used to being a family of 4. In the beginning she slept a lot during the day which meant I could still focus on Josie, but as she has gotten older I have had to split my time more, which has created some jealousy, but we are working on it. Maggie is a fairly happy baby, but an awful sleeper. Now that she is almost 7 months old her naps have found a pretty good routine, but her nighttime sleep is still very inconsistent. She loves to nurse, be held, and watch Josie do just about anything.

Paul and I had a good 2009. We felt at times we were in survival mode especially with the arrival of Maggie and the lack of sleep, but I think we are finding a new rhythm. Paul and I will both turn 30 in 2010. We have been married a little over 6 years and while there are times we look at each other when both kids are crying and we can't believe we are the parents; there are other times we look at the kids and are very proud to be the parents.

I hope 2010 will be another great year in our little family. I am sure it will bring new challenges and new joys. Maggie will start moving soon which will be interesting as Josie will get possessive of her toys, but I also think it will show Josie that Maggie really is a little person. My goals for 2010 are to continue to take care of my little girls, work out by myself, and hopefully sleep 8 hours straight!

Merry Christmas!

We had a great Christmas at our house. Santa was very generous and the kids love everything they received. We had Paul's parents in from Vermont and his brother Peter in from Boston. Josie was very excited by the idea of Santa and loved waking up and seeing all the presents in the stockings and under the tree.

We spent the morning opening presents at our house and then went to my parents house for more presents and a delish dinner! Both girls did pretty well considering all the excitement and people. Josie didn't nap and on the way home from my parents house said she wanted to go straight to bed when we got home---and Maggie was already asleep in the car. Sorry the pictures are random, but Paul and I weren't able to take as many as we would have wanted because of the chaos and holding Maggie. But we all had a good Christmas!

Crafty

I am by no means crafty, but I wish I was. We did some crafts at a party....Josie loved it! Thanks to Jessica for the craft party. We have done some other crafts around here, but they will remain a secret until Christmas.

Gingerbread House

We made this lovely gingerbread house (from a kit) and let Josie go to town decorating it. I think its cute!
